Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry is envisioned as holistic at Christ Church, and provides opportunities for youth to be engaged in ministry both as receivers and doers. Four age groupings provide structure for activities: Alpha Grades K-2, Plunge Grades 3-5, Junior Youth Grades 6-8, Senior Youth Grades 9-12. The Confirmation Ministry Program provides integration of faith and life during the junior youth years.

Youth Leadership Training Camp

July 25th-31st

The Lower Susquehanna Synod Office for Youth Ministry will conduct the 20th Annual Leadership Training Camp at Camp Nawakwa.  The week long camping experience is designed to help youth polish existing leadership skills which they can use in service to one another, their home congregation and the greater glory of God! It is open to youth who have completed ninth grade through 21 years of age, who have displayed gifts for leadership and who wish to further discern those gifts for service in God's kingdom. This is a scholarship event, with no cost to the participants. Please see or contact Tracey DePasquale for an application. Deadline for applications is July 1st.

Crossroads--Gettysburg Seminary

July 31st-August 7th

An event gathering up to 25 current 9th and 10th graders to explore public ministry contexts and how God is using people's gifts to serve others and do justice in vocational settings where we would not necessarily think of people doing ministry, but that are absolutely opportunities for the Gospel to intersect the world. Some examples include Lutheran Advocacy Ministry, Lutheran World Relief and Lutheran Refugee Services.  Theological Education with Youth, a joint initiative of Lutheran seminaries, creates meeting places for theological and vocational discovery with high school disciples.
