Music Program

Luther referred to music as "the handmaiden of theology" and, to that end, our music always seeks as its primary goal the glorification of God.

A graded choral program forms the core of our music ministry. Deeply rooted in Holy Scripture, the choirs, beginning with pre-kindergarten, utilize the hymns and songs of the church to learn Holy Scripture, to teach the elements of music, and to encourage, lead, and inspire all as they become active leaders and full participants in the worship life at Christ Church.

The music ministry is blessed with a four-octave set of handbells, and a two-octave set of handchimes. The handbell choir rehearses weekly, and rings frequently. Throughout the year, other instrumentalists and ensembles rehearse on a regular basis.

The Organist's Assistant Program

This program is designed for youth in grades 3-7 to acquaint them with the organ and its role in worship, and to interest them in learning to play the organ. A child will have the opportunity to sit with Todd during Sunday services, turning pages, pushing pistons, tapping toe studs and other fun musical tasks. After the child has helped at the organ on Sunday morning for six times, the child will receive a free organ lesson.  Please see Todd for additional information. This is a great opportunity for children to learn more about the role of music in the worship service.
